Al's Bytes

I graduated from Swanville High School, Swanville, Minnesota and began my college studies at St. Cloud University. I completed my B.S. degree at Black Hills State University in Spearfish, South Dakota. My Master of Science degree was earned at Chadron State College, Chadron, Nebraska. My Education Specialist degree was also earned at Chadron State College.

In my present position as superintendent and principal of Roslyn School District 18-2, I would like to expand the educational opportunities for our students through distance learning and dual credit coursework. I would also like to see our students use the network to explore the web and do educational research on-line.

The community of Roslyn is made up of around 235 residents and is located in the lakes region of NE South Dakota. The heritage of Roslyn is mainly Norwegian and Polish. The school has 172 students in grades K-12. Like most schools in South Dakota, the enrollment is decreasing at a rate of approximately 5 percent per year.

Links at top left lead to the rest of my pages. For example, School Administration is a list of various sites that may be of interest to other school administrators. There is also my master's thesis, studying achievement of students from Loneman Day School, Pine Ridge Indian Reservation, Oglala, South Dakota.
